Mariposa Signature Flute "F" Quilted Maple
In Spanish the word for Butterfly is Mariposa. Our Signature Mariposa flute was inspired by nature's cycles of transformation. Our flutes are a doorway into a journey of self-transformation, learning to hear and feel to our innermost Self; building harmony within and without.
This fluted is handcrafted from Quilted Maple (Acer macrophyllum) which is a rare grain figuring that occurs in Big Leaf Maple trees. The most dramatic figuring is often found in trees found in the Pacific Northwest. Each of our flutes is handcrafted from a single piece of wood, hand-finished with a Tung Oil blend that enhances and seals the voice of the flute.
The Mariposa Signature Flute 'F#' minor (440 Hz) can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of A.
It is 22 inches (56 cm) long with a 1-inch (2.5 cm) bore diameter. The body of this flute and the sculpted fetish is decorated with Hematite stone inlay. Hematite is a common iron oxide, and believed to be a powerful grounding stone from the mineral kingdom. It is thought to support focus in thoughts and actions, guiding you to what matters most.
Our Quilted Maple Mariposa Signature Flute inlaid with Hematite cabochons signifies deep form of transformation: from a tree to an creative instrument of harmony, to a from a chemical compound formed from iron and oxygen to a stone with magnetic properties.
Every Signature Flute is designed to be both a musical instrument as well as a piece of beautiful artwork. Our precision tuning insures that each Signature Flute is easily able to meet the requirements of any musician. Our Signature Series flutes utilize a unique airflow design that provides exceptional responsiveness and player control, superior amplification, and makes them ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

1. Prepare — Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn. Remove all packaging and place on a heat-safe surface away from drafts.
2. First burn — Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges on your first use (approx. 2 hours). This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
3. Enjoy — Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
4. Care — Once finished, clean the vessel with warm soapy water and repurpose as a storage jar, planter, or glassware.
We started Apothecary because we believed your home deserved better than synthetic fragrance and mass-produced wax. Most candles on the market are made with paraffin — a petroleum by-product — and loaded with artificial fragrance that can trigger headaches, allergies, and that familiar "chemical" smell.
We wanted something different: a candle that fills a room slowly, honestly, with scent that feels like it belongs there. That's why every Amber Candle is hand-poured in small batches using a coconut-soy blend, scented with a proprietary amber and resin accord that took over a year to develop.
Burn time matters too. We designed the Amber Candle to reach a full melt pool within the first two hours, which means no tunnelling, no wasted wax, and a consistent scent throw every time you light it.
This candle isn't just a product. It's what we'd want in our own homes.

How long does the Amber Candle burn?
Approximately 50 hours with proper care — trimming the wick to 5mm before each burn and not exceeding 4-hour burn sessions.
What wax is used?
A coconut-soy blend. We chose this combination for its clean burn, excellent scent throw, and renewable sourcing. No paraffin, no petroleum.
Is it safe to burn around pets?
Our fragrance is free from known pet-toxic ingredients, but we always recommend burning in a well-ventilated space. Keep candles physically out of reach of all animals at all times.
