Preservation Signature Merlin high 'C' Aromatic Cedar
Our Merlin Signature Flute in the key of 'C' minor has a responsive, musical voice that is clear, smooth, and bright. The flute is handcrafted from Aromatic Cedar, a domestic tonal wood that gives the instrument a balance, full sound.
This flute has clear high notes, and warm, full low notes. It is very easy to play because of its smaller size so it is perfect for someone starting their musical journey with the native flute. It is also an ideal instrument for drum circles because of its high-tone voice, which stands out from the deeper toned drums.
The Merlin is the highest octave we make in the Pentatonic key of 'C' minor, and it can also be played in the Relative Major Diatonic scale in the key of 'E'. The Merlin 'C' is also a great accompaniment to any of our other key of 'C' minor flutes, such as our low-tone, Condor Bass 'C' flute.
Every Signature Flute is designed to be both a musical instrument as well as a piece of beautiful artwork. Our precision tuning insures that each Signature Flute is easily able to meet the requirements of any musician. Our Signature Series flutes utilize a unique airflow design that provides exceptional responsiveness and player control, superior amplification, and makes them ideal for a wide range of musical styles.
Since 1990 High Spirits Flutes has been handcrafting flutes from single piece of wood. We have become adept at the process of choosing planks with natural beauty and turning them into incredible sounding flutes. When you choose one of our flutes we guarantee its high-quality sound, its flawless craftmanship, and one-of-a-kind characteristic of the unique piece of wood that it's crafted from.
Our PRESERVATION COLLECTION was developed from our commitment to sustainability in the woodworking process, and our deep respect for the Earth's natural resources.
Preservation flutes are different from our regular flute collection because of small imperfections like minor shaping inconsistencies, stone inlay variations, design prototypes, unique wood qualities, or other cosmetic differences, which don't meet the aesthetic perfection of our regular flute line but never compromise their excellent sound quality.
Every flute in our Preservation Collection still meets our company's high-quality, American handcrafted, woodwind instrument guarantee, just at a deeply discounted value.

1. Prepare — Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn. Remove all packaging and place on a heat-safe surface away from drafts.
2. First burn — Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges on your first use (approx. 2 hours). This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
3. Enjoy — Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
4. Care — Once finished, clean the vessel with warm soapy water and repurpose as a storage jar, planter, or glassware.
We started Apothecary because we believed your home deserved better than synthetic fragrance and mass-produced wax. Most candles on the market are made with paraffin — a petroleum by-product — and loaded with artificial fragrance that can trigger headaches, allergies, and that familiar "chemical" smell.
We wanted something different: a candle that fills a room slowly, honestly, with scent that feels like it belongs there. That's why every Amber Candle is hand-poured in small batches using a coconut-soy blend, scented with a proprietary amber and resin accord that took over a year to develop.
Burn time matters too. We designed the Amber Candle to reach a full melt pool within the first two hours, which means no tunnelling, no wasted wax, and a consistent scent throw every time you light it.
This candle isn't just a product. It's what we'd want in our own homes.

How long does the Amber Candle burn?
Approximately 50 hours with proper care — trimming the wick to 5mm before each burn and not exceeding 4-hour burn sessions.
What wax is used?
A coconut-soy blend. We chose this combination for its clean burn, excellent scent throw, and renewable sourcing. No paraffin, no petroleum.
Is it safe to burn around pets?
Our fragrance is free from known pet-toxic ingredients, but we always recommend burning in a well-ventilated space. Keep candles physically out of reach of all animals at all times.
